Russellville Birth Photography

I was honored when Christy contacted me about photographing the birth of their second child, Anderson. She was expecting him to arrive the next month, and had several people near and dear to her heart in the delivery room. Christy is a pediatrician here in Russellville, serving the River Valley. Typically, when I photograph births, I keep the faces of all medical professionals out of the shots as much as I can to ensure their privacy. It was fun for me to include Russellville's talented team of doctors and nurses into these images as Christy's friends and loved ones.

When I arrived to the hospital, the Bartlett family was preparing for Anderson's arrival. Ethan is Anderson's older brother. He came to the hospital well prepared to meet his little brother, and was even snapping my photo while I was snapping his :)

I asked Christy to share a bit about her pregnancy with Anderson.

"Ethan has been asking for a baby brother or sister for three years.  When we told Ethan, we gave him a lentil that was the size of his brother at that time, then Ethan gave lentils to his grandparents to tell them he was going to be a big brother. He told everyone that I was having two babies, "but don't tell my Mom!"

Christy and her husband headed back to the O.R. for her c-section, and I followed along. They were finally about to meet sweet Anderson face to face!

Christy tells a little more about Ethan's excitement towards welcoming Anderson.....

"For the past 3 months I have been fielding the sweetest questions from my sweet, little, brutally honest patients about why my belly was so big! Anderson smiled on his 4D ultrasound when his brother talked to him. While I'm sure a coincidence, Ethan was very proud. The night before Anderson was born Ethan said he was so excited because he was going to meet his best friend."

Christy said that during her pregnancy she craved pineapple and the smell of beer! She says that she ate a lot of pineapple :)

Christy had sweet Anderson come back to recovery so she could snuggle on him after calling the nursery to make sure all of his check up went well :)

Bartlett Family-- Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of Anderson's Birth! He is absolutely perfect, and it was my honor to be a part of this time in your lives!
